About Bretton Hostel
Bretton Hostel, formerly owned by the YHA, is now run as an Independent Hostel. As part of an ongoing refurbishment scheme, the hostel has recently had new A+ energy efficient windows and doors fitted and a new, state of the art infra-red heating panel system installed, to help keep you warm and dry inside. A brand new Studio, a lovely timber framed eco-building with wild flower turf roof, has been built in the hostel grounds. With far reaching views through its floor to ceiling windows and complete with wood burning stove, it is a wonderful multi purpose space in which to run courses, organise activities, hold meetings or for general recreational use. Attached to the Studio is a new secure bike store and composting toilet.
These refurbishment works and the new eco-building were part funded through the Peak Leader Rural Grants Scheme, part of the European Union's Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
